From Nashville to Cape Coral
Kind of....

Organized October of 2022, The BTB Trio is a harmonizing ensemble ready to entertain. We are privileged to have one of the most talented pianist in SW Florida along with two harmonizing singers bringing a flare and a "new sound" to 50's 60's and up. These are songs we all know and love but rarely hear anymore. All three have music in their blood. Continue reading to find out more.....

Our pianist, Tom Ayer, was born to musical parents, his father having a country band that performed at clubs and on the radio in the west while his mother sang and played piano in choruses all over the country. His musical talents became apparent at age 4 when he started picking out melodies on the piano, later playing for church services at the age of 11. Tom has served as choir director and music director for churches for over 40 years and has played piano bars almost as long. He studied music at the University of New Mexico and has composed choral and solo pieces that have been performed throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, he has sung with choruses all over, notably the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and the Athens Symphony. When not involved musically, Tom spends his time reading, gardening, and traveling.

In 2022, he met the other two members of the BTB trio when he was playing piano bar in Cape Coral. After inviting them to sing a few numbers with him that evening, it became clear that there was a synergy among them and the trio was born out of that common love of music and performing.

Bob Cole comes from Texas, where he performed for crowds with his warm personality on the Gulfcoast Opry circuit in the Houston area for several years.  He eventually was urged to enter a Local Talent contest, which sent him to Vegas to compete in the Regionals.  That near win experience encouraged him to return home to Texas and start his own C&W and 50-60's band, which was successful for several years.  His heartfelt, soulful singing draws you in as you feel every emotion.

Urged by close friends, Bob moved to Nashville to pursue a singing career.  During that time, he sang at many venues and bars, including the world famous "Tootsies".   He joined the internationally acclaimed Nashville  Barbershop Chorus, and continured honing his harmonizing skills, singing lead with them for over five years.

During this time, he met a west Tennessee farmer singer/songwriter named Buddy Conyers.  It soon became evident that the blend of their unique voices brought a new level of sound to their music. They were even featured on America's got Talent as a Duet.

Fast forward to Cape Coral.  When the farm country surrounding Bob's house was sold to a developer, he decided to move to Cape Coral, FL.  Not wanting to break up the now duo, Bob urged Buddy to follow him to Cape Coral to continue to perform.  Soon after, they met Tom Ayer, an ingenious piano player, and the rest is history.  He has two adult children who he adores and he them.

Then it comes to the other one. He was a farmer/rancher in Tennessee for almost 40 years. He started playing guitar and singing in church as so many do. Soon sang with a gospel group for several years and played bluegrass music on an Upright bass in fairs, festivals, and many jam sessions.

After retiring from the goat, sheep, horse, cattle, chicken, duck, donkey and assorted varmints business, he moved to Nashville under the urging of a friend. He soon found himself in the Barbershop music field and honed his skills. Soon the GTO Quartet was formed and performed in many areas around the Nashville metro area. Then, the pandemic hit and most venues closed or slowed to a crawl. Soon his friend Bob was urging him to move to Florida and he never looked back. He still hasn't figured out how he became a member of a trio with two great talented men and then him. Hope they never figure it out.

We don't just show up and play music. Its a time for entertainment, dancing, relaxation, and a whole lot of fun. Let us entertain you at your next gathering.

We would be privileged to bring our sound to your venue, whether its a social club, entertainment hall, festival, wedding, or a private party. You won't be disappointed unless your looking for loud singers and thrashing guitars
